The Department of Employment (DOE), Thailand, has officially introduced the **Temporary Work Permit (Form WP.62)** to facilitate foreign workers who have already received approval for their work permit but are still waiting for their official Work Permit Smart Card to be issued.
What is Form WP.62?
Form WP.62 is an official temporary work authorization document issued to foreign workers whose work permits have already been approved but whose Work Permit Smart Card or physical work permit booklet has not yet been issued. During this waiting period, WP.62 serves as valid legal proof of work authorization. Who is Eligible? WP.62 is available to: * Foreign workers whose work permits have already been approved.
Workers who are waiting for their appointment to receive or print their Work Permit Smart Card.
Note: Applicants whose work permit applications are still under review or have not yet been approved are **not eligible** for WP.62. What Can You Do with WP.62? With WP.62, you may:
* Use it as official legal proof of your work authorization.
* Continue working legally while waiting for your Work Permit Smart Card.
* Proceed with employer change procedures (Change Employer / แจ้งเข้า–แจ้งออก), provided that all legal requirements and Department of Employment regulations are met.

Important Notice WP.62 is not a new type of Work Permit, nor does it replace the official Work Permit. It is a temporary document designed solely to certify the work authorization of workers whose work permits have already been approved while they await the issuance of their official Work Permit Smart Card.
The introduction of WP.62 is expected to significantly reduce employment disruptions caused by delays in Smart Card issuance and help ensure that foreign workers can continue working legally without interruption.
